Kingston land judging team qualifies for district contest

LAWTON — The Kingston FFA land judging team is headed for district contest after placing fourth last week at Cameron University.
Ethan Bishop finished sixth individually to lead the Kingston group in the FFA Interscholastic Meet. Jamie Jackman finished 10th, and teammates Bradley Robertson and Addison Johnson helped the team qualify for the next round on a day when blustery, rainy conditions made it difficult for all the teams to perform.
"It was pretty miserable," Johnson said. "We were all standing out there shivering."
Teammate Dilan Shipley has competed with the Redskin squad this season, but was unavailable at Lawton.
The team will now compete in the district contest in hopes of qualifying for the state meet April 27 in Stillwater.
