About Sandra Patterson

Welcome to Mrs. Patterson's First Grade Web Page

Crazy About the Redskins!

Dear Parents,

I would like to introduce myself to you. I am Sandi Patterson. My husband, Joe and I have two sons, Zach and Jake and soon to be daughter-in-law Nikki.  She and Zach will be getting married in the fall of 2016.  WE are super excited about this new addition to our family and the changes it will bring.  They both have finished their bachelor degrees and are working on their masters and working.  Jake is in his 3rd year of college.

We are a sports fanatic family and both of our boys went to Kingston their whole life, played football, basketball, and baseball.  They both say they have nothing but the fondest memories of being a Kingston Redskin.  My husband is the Associate Pastor at Kingston First Baptist Church, works with FCA at the Junior High, and still continues to help coach football at Kingston.  So, I think it's safe to say we LOVE being a Kingston Redskin!!

I obtained my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant in 1996. This is my sixteenth year of teaching first grade. I have also taught Kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd.  All of my years of experience are here at Kingston.  I wouldn’t change a thing!!  Kingston is truly the best place to be.

I am excited and looking forward to a wonderful year filled with many learning experiences with your child. We are going to be doing some exciting things and I encourage you to discuss with your child about their experiences everyday.

In order to guarantee the best learning environment for your child and our classroom I will be following this simple philosophy: All children can learn, given the opportunity and proper environment, and each child deserves just that; therefore I will not tolerate any student keeping me from teaching or any student from learning.

Students should be good listeners and follow directions, do not disturb others while working, and always respect others and their property.

Children should enjoy the learning process, and I want to help them develop their own motivation for learning. I believe modeling is the most powerful way to affect a child’s learning. Please model the love of learning at home by reading in front of, and with your child on a regular basis.

I encourage you to go through your child’s R.E.D.skin (Ready EveryDay) folder daily to see what he/she is doing, and ask him/her to tell you about the day.

We are a TEAM! Your child needs both of us to be successful!

Remember if you drop off your child in the morning do so by 7:45 in order to eat breakfast.  Please try to refrain from picking up your child before 3:20 as we are still engaged in learning untill that time.

If you ever have any questions, please feel free to contact me (564-2993).

Thank you for entrusting your child's education with me.

Sincerely,
Sandi Patterson
