On Tuesday October 24, the Kingston Vocal Music Department traveled to Ada to compete against other area schools and choirs in the area in the Little Dixie Choir Competition. The mixed choir performed two pieces on stage, while the show choir performed two separate pieces as well. There were also other ensembles and soloists competing.

“We’ve put a lot of hard work in learning several pieces this year and have spent extra time making sure we had everything right and for it to pay off is an amazing feeling. This group continues to work hard and put all of their effort into everything they do, which makes me feel so honored to be a part of it,” says junior show choir member, Aleah Taylor. Aleah has been in Kingston’s show choir since her freshman year.

The day surely did pay off when Kingston brought home eight superior ratings, which is the highest a choir could have been rated throughout the day, and one excellent rating. These students will undoubtedly keep up the success as the year progresses.
