I CAME TO KINGSTON MIDDLE SCHOOL IN 2007.

I AM MARRIED WITH THREE GROWN CHILDREN, AND HAVE LIVED IN DURANT, OK. SINCE 1998.

TEACHING FOR ME IS ALL ABOUT THE STUDENTS.

MY PASSION IS TAKING STUDENTS WHO HATE TO READ AND TEACHING THEM TO LOVE IT.  IT IS A DIFFICULT JOB, BUT A REWARDING ONE WHEN IT HAPPENS.  â€‹

THE PROBLEM WITH TEACHING IS THAT A STUDENT HAS TO WANT TO LEARN, AND AS A TEACHER YOU HAVE TO FIND WHAT ENCOURAGES THEM TO WANT TO LEARN.

JUST LIKE MOST OF MY STUDENTS, I HAD MY OWN DIFFICULTIES IN SCHOOL,  THAT ALLOWS ME TO IDENTIFY WITH MY STUDENTS AND FEEL THE PAIN THAT THEY EXPERIENCE WHEN THEY ARE LAGGING BEHIND THEIR PEERS.

MY FAVORITE QUOTE IS:

“EVERYBODY IS A GENIUS. BUT IF YOU JUDGE A FISH BY ITS ABILITY TO CLIMB A TREE, IT WILL LIVE ITS WHOLE LIFE BELIEVING THAT IT IS STUPID.”

I AM BLESSED TO HAVE A PARA BY THE NAME OF BJ PITRE.  SHE IS GOOD AT EVERYTHING THAT SHE DOES BUT SHE IS INCREDIBLE AT HELPING STUDENTS UNDERSTAND MATH, EVEN IF THEY THINK MATH IS IMPOSSIBLE!!
